September 6, 2000 - SIDS Network of Kansas and Dillon’s combine fundraising strategy with safety awareness for local communities

Wichita, KS – The SIDS Network of Kansas and Dillon’s team up to educate the public on safety and preparedness for the entire family. Dillon’s grocery stores in Kansas are now carrying Fedhealth’s new basic first aid and disaster preparedness manual at a special discounted price to help local communities prepare for disasters and emergencies before they strike!

According to Bill Liebsch, President and founder of Fedhealth, the key is education so people understand what can be done to reduce risks during any type of life situation. "We would like to thank Dillon’s for helping raise awareness about safety and preparedness to their local communities as well as supporting the SIDS Network of Kansas with this collaborative fundraising program," said Liebsch. "Our goal is to help the public become more proactive and learn how to take personal responsibility to ‘be aware, be prepared and have a plan’ – whether it’s knowing what to do for the safety of your newborn baby or your entire family."

Dillon’s and Fedhealth also hope to heighten awareness about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome through this new nonprofit fundraising program since all sales of this book benefit the local SIDS Network of Kansas.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is a medical disorder, which claims the lives of thousands of young children one day to one year of age. The SIDS Alliance, Dillon’s, and Fedhealth want the public to recognize that SIDS can strike without warning and affects families of all races and income levels. Two pages in the front of the book are devoted to spreading SIDS awareness by "Advancing Infant Safety and Survival Across America" and all sales of this manual benefit the SIDS Alliance and their local Affiliates through a variety of related Fedhealth fundraising programs.

The SIDS Network of Kansas is a nonprofit statewide support organization to help all families, relatives, friends, caregivers, and all who are affected by the devastating sudden death of an infant.
